American Classic – Day 22
When a mom over-sleeps on a school day, it’s never a pretty thing. Your eyes open slightly as you slowly take in the bedroom and your first thought is, I wonder why it’s so light in here… Then a sickening realization suddenly hits you… It’s light in your bedroom because school starts in twenty minutes. Lunches are thrown together, children are roused with a restrained yell and coffee has to be chugged in the shower. I had one of those mornings today and I’ve been playing catch up ever since.
But before I continue my off-kilter day, I’d like to share with you this awesome argyle sweater I found at a consignment store for only five dollars…

Why was it only five dollars? Because it’s ugly. Really ugly. You might even say it’s not worth five dollars. But to me I saw it and I just fell in love. That’s when it occurred to me what kind of American Classic I am. I was shooting for chic and subtle like Jackie Kennedy when I should have been going for preppy and gaudy – like the Clueless girls –

I’m drawn to plaids and argyle like a traffic accident – I know I shouldn’t stare, but I just can’t look away. Inside me there’s a female golfer waiting to break out.
Here’s my problem though — I only have a week and a half left of American Classic. Can I find more plaids and argyles before time runs out?
The fashion game is afoot…
